Deleting You

I found myself always looking,
Always checking,
And than,
Double checking,
To see,
That is,
If you were watching.

It became,
A routine,
Customary practice,
An obsession.

Until one day,
I made a decision,
To delete you,
And,
There it was,
Sanity.

For if I didn’t have you,
On my list,
As a friend,
There would be nothing to watch.
Therefore,
Nothing for me to check,
Nothing to become,
Compulsive over.

For in deleting you,
I regained sanity,
My peace…
Coming to terms,
With the hopelessness,
That was us.

And so,
Backspacing you,
Has been,
The greatest decision yet.
