Not My Person
I imagined you to be very different,
Than who it is you are…
And you weren’t…
Yet you fed into my illusion,
Picture perfect…
Everything I wanted…
But not.
The illusion faded and truth appeared…
Holding on for dear life…
Suffering in silence…
Knowing,
Yet still trying…
Alone on a no longer two way street…
The honey was gone…
There was only the moon
And it’s truth.
You are not the person I need
To become the person
I want to become…
The person I’m meant to become…
Life is rough,
Up and downs…
It’s pulling through
Stronger and stronger

So that you reach the finish line…
Committing yourself
With each and every step you take…
Knowing that no matter what it takes,
How long it takes,
How many sacrifices you need to make,
You will do so,
To reach that finish line…
But to give up mid race…
To not even try…
To just let be.
Not water that which will flourish.
Disappointing…
Unfortunate…
My image of you was so much more.
You are not my person…
As you have yet to know your person…
