Insanity?!
A fulfilled life means something different for everyone, but one can deny that we all want a life of meaning and purpose. We want to be able to feel content with what we created for ourselves, and more than often none, we want something different or greater than what our current situation offers. We want to be able to look back and be pleased with the life we had, but not just in one area, in all areas of life. We all want more, something else, something different, something we don’t have; whether it be in love, health, happiness and/or wealth. The question what are we willing to do for it?
Many of us go through life doing the same actions over and over again, thinking and hoping that something changes, something happens. Yes, things will most definitely happen, but nothing just changes. If we want change, if we want something different, we have to be different, we have to do something different. Yet, here we are doing the same actions over and over and expecting a different outcome – that is insane. The definition of insanity is doing the same everything over and over again and expecting a different result. So, is it that majority of us don’t seem to ever do anything different?
Some of us are so stuck in our ways, we don’t even acknowledge the repercussions our comfort zone has on us. Some assume if things are meant to be they will be. We feel as though, things will naturally happen. Yes, things will most definitely happen, it is life, but maybe not the things you desire. The universe present all sorts of things to us, it is up to us to acknowledge and understand what it is in front of us and do something by take the necessary actions.
Our comfort zone will only lead us so far, and if we want something different, something more, something we have never had, we have to be willing to do things we have never done, such as stepping outside of our comfort zone. If we want a better job, a healthier lifestyle, a partner, financial freedom, whatever it may be, actions are required for such things to occur, they don’t just happen. The thing is we expect things in a certain way, presented with the red ribbon wrapped up with a sign above indicating ‘this is it!’, as if reassurance rids us of fear.
Life isn’t like that, the universe presents things in multitude of ways, and more often than none, it is never presented as we thought. So, we doubt and therefore continue down the cycle of insanity. Why? Because we fear, so we stay within our comfort zone rather than pushing past despite how scary it may seem. But, why are we so afraid? Failure, hurt, doubt, list goes on. We already know what our comfort gives us, none of which seem to be the things we want. So what exactly is our comfort zone protecting us from? It isn’t, it is actually causing us to be insane, doing the same thing over and over and expecting something different. If we want something different, we have to take the necessary actions and do something different, but that doesn’t mean we lose ourselves or who we are, it means we are growing into the person we need to become.
